FastTrac Turning Displaced Workers Into Entrepreneurs

Is your next career move becoming an entrepreneur? Or maybe you see an opportunity to build your resume and bring in income through self-employment while you wait for that regular job?

The Kauffman Foundation is revamping its fantastic FastTrac New Venture program to target displaced workers (that's probably you if you're reading this blog). They are offering a faster FastTrac called Launchpad, and acclerating the sessions from the usual ten weeks. They are targeting areas hit hard by the recession and are including Kansas City, particularly because it's home to the Kauffman Foundation.

I'm a graduate of an accelerated version of the FastTrac New Venture program and I highly recommend it for anyone even considering starting your own business -- including being a consultant. FastTrac takes you through the development of a business plan step by step and you learn a lot about your business concept, entrepreneurship, and yourself. You also make lasting networking relationships with the other proto-entrepreneurs in your group.

And as a bonus you may get to hear me speak about effective website design from my own new venture, www.websitemakeovers.net , since I'm a regular presenter for FastTrac.
